United By Truth

Genesis 11:6 – "And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do."

Man’s evil imaginations had already brought about God’s judgment in the form of a worldwide flood. This passage shows how quickly men disregarded God’s word and promise never to destroy the world with a flood. Mankind is bent on disobeying God and doing things his way. He would rather unite against God than submit to God’s authority. The people working on the tower of Babel showed tremendous unity, but they were united against God. We would do well to remember it’s better to be divided by truth than united by error.
